Today, let’s talk about technology and all these electronic devices that have taken over writing. I understand as I say this, I already come off as someone who does not partake in the benefits of technology. But truth be told, my very discussion lies, just not in the pros and cons of them, but rather on the fact whether it makes our, or so to say my life easier or not.
Personally, there are days when I am absolutely not in favour of them, not in the team of emails, and tablets and modernised computers, not with the apps, and ebooks and soft copies. These days my nostalgia kicks in and I am most ardently in favour of our olden days. On those days I team up with notebooks and journals and feel like I need to have things in front of me and unless I fill up space, (again we come to the tangible aspect here), there is nothing that I have to show.
And then there are days when I take refuge in drives and clouds, in ebooks and disks and feel comfortable in the fact that I do not have to worry about the physical space, and only the space that I cannot see. These days, although, seem light on the outside, take away a lot from me, what with the constant glare on my eyes and the not so comfotable desk. But it is what it is and it is one way or the other.
I am not here discussing the pros and cons, all I want to understand is have you comfortably adapted to the electronic storage instead of the physical ones or are you still transitioning and like me, sometimes wander through the nostalgic lanes and let life be difficult in the most simplest ways, or to say vice versa, let life be simple in the most difficult ways?
