November Narrative

Years ago I started writing because I wanted to express myself. But lately I have been feeling that I am digressing from what I want to write to what people want to read. As a writer it is kind of necessary to do that as well but I have been feeling a little uninspired with my methods. More so when I am trying to write for the reader and yet I am not socializing with them.

To be honest, my entire social life has been off lately and while I don’t mind a little snooze time to myself, it becomes redundant after a certain point of time. But that’s enough about me not feeling a little stable. November has been still good to me even though I haven’t been writing, mostly because I have tried to read more on the craft of writing and editing.

I read a total of four books this month and three of them were somehow related to writing. The first one was Editors on editing by Gerald Gross which is a collection of essays. The next one was The Copyeditor’s Handbook by Amy Einsohn which was not an exhaustive but yet very helpful book for writers. My next book was Stein on Writing about which all I am going to say is this- his guidance feels like having a seasoned mentor at your side. It’s a book that demands to be highlighted, dog-eared, and revisited often. And the last of my book was Everytime I Find the Meaning of Life They Change It by Daniel Klein which is one of the best books I have read recently, an easy read for beginners trying to dip into philosophy.

Tell me below what interesting books have you been reading recently?

Until then I leave you with the story of the month called: The Last Fight. It’s sweet, it’s poignant. A heartfelt story of love, and growing old together.

Watch now on my channel and let me know what touched your heart the most.

Perhaps you just need a little ‘fun’ time! You know the saying – All work and no play, etc., etc. 🙂
