Disheartened

I am least stunned reading this. If there are yet 20 million Indian uneducated girls then this just is just another piece of news which could have affected anyone.

Can you believe? There are villages where mobile phones are actually banned for girls for saving their morality.

Of course if a parent has to choose between a girl and a boy for education then mobile phones and internet are a far cry.

The irony is that even internet helps in educating a person these days with all the distance learning and open universities and yet it is a rarity for those who most need them.

PS: girls have equal rights too and it is high time that we start giving them what they deserve, if not giving them a higher priority than men.

I used Facebook users just as a way to bring before everyone the actual differences that still lay before us humans; between a girl and a boy. Facebook is not my point; my point is every girl should have equal rights, which if you read the article clearly states that is not the case. It bluntly says that there places that do not allow girls to carry a mobile phone just to preserve their morality. Then think of the other boundaries that may be around the girls there.

I Agree that bias is there, but have noticed that the enemy of a woman is a woman, stopping her for taking a flight, it has to be changed and i believe some part of the country is witnessing some positive changes, lets hope for the best, and help and support her to express herself as human being, I am there ( with my friends) to make this initiative possible, to make her independent.

As i said we have to be the change that we want to see. If today’s generation does not change then we will never see it.

I do believe that women are much superior to men in all terms, and woman trying to be equal is like making their standard low.

I agree. It is we who are supposed to bring a change. Even if today’s generation make a hurdle for women then there can never be a change. it is the young generation that should take a step. we have to be a change that we want to see.

Exactly and more than anything else, we as women need to step up not only for ourselves but also for the women around us. We need to empower the women around us and not degrade them no matter who they are or what they do.

Religion and culture are the chains that bind women and keep them unequal. Which of course they are not unequal.

Every country has a religion so does it mean that women everywhere are unequal? The chains should be unchained now.

I believe in learning , educating irrespective of gender. Misuse of technology could be done by any gender but I see a bigger picture of development using technology. Information is everywhere .. If technology is helping get that information on aa click of a button ,why not use it. Whether man or women anyone who would love to learn and grow should not be restricted from usage of technology
