Only 36% of menstruating population use sanitary pads even today.
A study stated that over 71% of girls had no information or misinformation on menstruation.
There are households around the world which still refer to menstruation as impure and ask them to not touch anywhere, do not let them enter the kitchen or make them sleep on the floor along with other superstitions associated.
(You should google the superstitions associated with it, you’d be surprised. It has everything from not cradling a baby to washing your pads before throwing them or else a ghost will haunt you ).
