My Baby Turns One!

My baby turns one!

Sorry for the cliche, but how else was I supposed to cry out loud about the excitement. Last year, while we had just begun struggling with the pandemic, I had published my first poetry collection on World Poetry Day. Little did I know, we were going on an indefinite lockdown. My first fear was my book, my dream would fail. But then, what is failure after all? How can something which had years of my patience fail? So, did my book fail? No? Did it cross the bestseller list? No. What matters to me is my book was read, my book was acknowledged. Sure, there were good reviews of my book pouring in, but what was more surprising and thrilling for me was, people who might have not known me, who had nothing to do with poetry, actually picked up POSIES, read it, and loved it. At least they told me they loved it. And for now this is enough. This is the first step. A year gone by and I have two more books in my name. What more could I possibly want. Yes, it looks all too good, but it hasn’t been easy. The books didn’t just come out of the air. The past years and the patience have been trying. But hasn’t it all been worth it? I think it has. So thank you for being here, for encouraging with every small gesture.

If you haven’t yet read POSIES and mean to, the ebook is available for free on the 21st and the 22nd of March. (Attaching the link below) And if you are reading it, do drop in your honest thoughts on Goodreads and Amazon.

Happy world poetry day. Poetry is a different language altogether and thank you for appreciating it when words hardly matter for people.

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is the painting that is felt rather than seen.” – Leonardo da Vinci

I feel terrible about you for not being able to enjoy your book. I do not speak or write in English. I use the translator to reach more readers on the blog. I remain with that illusion but anyway, I enjoy your blog. My congratulations on the reach of your book. You well deserve that recognition because your poems reach the bottom of the heart and your celebration of this year is more than justified.
I am returning from a long vacation and this news makes my afternoon happy.
A big hug and cheers !!!! for your success. Good weekend to you.

Congrats! Just found your blog, and it neat to read your very first poem in 2018/2019 (?), the one you held back for a year, and then, just a few years later, you are now a published author with three books in print. How exciting! Thank you for sharing your story. What an inspiration. Blessings!
