There is only one reason I call this post Amazing, and that is I am finally ready and willing to talk more about my book. The book that I always promise I will tell you about and then don’t, or simply bail. So here’s the thing about this book, it’s special. Okay, I get it. Every writer insists that their book is extraordinary. However, that’s not the point I’m making. What I truly mean by the word special is that this book is special to me. This book is me.
When I started writing, I was very clear about what I wanted from my work. Appreciation and validation came second. First was always me. I wrote for myself. Not that I stopped doing that, but sure, somewhere down the line, I kind of digressed a little. And in a long, long while, I wrote just for myself. Without thinking what someone might think if they read it, without caring if anyone else will even like what they are reading. So, yeah, this book is that book for me. A kind of renewal for my writing process.
And what a process this was. I am not going to lie here that it was difficult, or it took me a lot of time to do it. I wrote this book in the last half of 2022 in about ten days. What’s more? I wrote with a stupid pen at the back of a few A4 size sheets that I was almost going to throw away. The story goes something like this:
One fine day I was cleaning my room and a lot of clutter, clutter from my life had accumulated. And somehow I landed on a thought about a girl wearing a red sweater whose life was nothing like what the colour red symbolizes. My cleaning helped me form this idea into a short story and before I knew it, I was still scribbling on the back of those pages and it was no more a short story. It was a novella. To be honest, this was the easiest thing I have ever done. Writing this book was simply easy, a second home, a second skin. This book is simple, honest, raw and about everything and nothing. I wouldn’t go as far as saying this book is autobiographical, but I will say this has a lot of me in it. It contains a significant part of my personal experiences.
So writing this was easy. What’s hard is sharing it with everyone. So I am not even really going to market and promote it. I am not going to knock on every influencer’s door trying to convince them to read my book. I am not going to beg for reviews, so that Amazon lists my book properly. I am just going to hit publish and share this with a very special and very few people. And if you are actually reading this, you are most welcome to read it or even request an advanced copy. Because I know no one who is not really interested in my work will go to the lengths to read this blog. This is not to say that I won’t share more updates about this book here or on social media. I might just go overboard actually and scream at the top of my lungs about this book (not literally though) because for once, and in a long time, I am very, very proud of something. Yeah, I am actually proud of this book and that I wrote it. That this book gave me more clarity and the much-needed balance.
So yeah, that’s it for the book that I have been talking about, the book, a short novella, that is called Mosaic of Moments. I will attach below a link to the post where I have revealed the cover and a little something on what’s it about. If you are proud of me too, do check it out here
On a different note, April was otherwise busy, but it was also monotonous. From where I am standing, May looks the same, but who is to know if there might be any magical dust in the future?
What’s more? I finally, finally managed to pick up my reading pace and finished 11 books this April, so maybe I am back on track with my goal of reading 100 books a year. Well, only time will tell.
Until then, happy reading and writing.
PS: The next story from Girl Woman Goddess is out on YouTube and you can listen to it for free here. Don’t forget to subscribe so you get updated every time I upload a new video which, to be honest, is not that often that I will flood your notifications.
