Bookish Problem

Published by

So today’s problem is, stacking books!!!!!

I have a small room to myself which till date I have been sharing with my brother. He is now studying in a different city but most of his belongings are here, so again it leaves me with no extra space. The room has 2 small wardrobes, amid which there is a dresser with few chest of drawers and a study table big enough to cram the room.

Basically no shelf, rack, or a separate space to store books.

Over the time, I have filled my study table and all its drawers with my novels, after which the drawers below the dresser came. Can you believe it? Novels in the space where one would usually find accessories, lipsticks, nail paints and what not. And now, I am literally out of space!!

I don’t know where the following books would go. But I am pretty sure the books wouldn’t stop coming!

Occasionally I do threaten my brother to vacate his wardrobe so that I can cram books there, but in return I get to hear I can throw away all my clothes and replace it with books, if I am so desperate for space.

Does anyone relate to it? Any one of you face the same book problems, or is it only me who always runs out of space!

Aww dear it’s really cool to have so many novels and books isn’t it? I’ve always dreamed of having stacks of books like this! Yeah, space is a bit of problem but it’s worth it😄

    I have something for you!!!
Try putting books in a carton a normal one and then place that carton under your bed or else you can easily use that carton as table or so..
    How was the idea?

Moushmi, I think all book lovers can relate to this. I have donated quite a few of my old books to make room for new ones. Now I try to read on Kindle, but somehow don’t get the satisfaction of reading the hard copy. Space to store the books always remains a constraint no matter how bid a house you have.

Totally agree with you….there is a different feelings…much deeper and satisfactory of reading hard copies, not only the content but also the smell of the books attracts me also.

I know, that is the reason I don’t own a Kindle as yet. I tried e books on my laptop but it wasn’t just fun and dropped the idea of Kindle for now. But I know sooner or later I will succumb to it.

Actually you can put all your brother ‘s book out side somewhere in the nowhere of the house and enjoy the space. With a shrewd smile on the space, (don’t forget the evil laughter) …. 🙃

Hahaha, yes I will remember the evil laughter, and when my brother comes in for the vacation he will not even remember me! 😀
It’s better I wait for him to come and willingly give away some space 🙂

Have loads of books too… and they seem to be everywhere. The domestic help asked my daughter if I was a teacher, seeing books on every table, cabinet after the book-shelf couldn’t handle anymore:) So can totally relate to it.

Hah! I can understand that reaction by the domestic help. Even at my place, people keep wondering the use of so many books around.

Just this year I gave my books away. A nurse I used to work with brought them all to the cancer centre at the hospital so patients undergoing chemo can enjoy my novels. I only keep a few to re-read
