Bookish Problem

Published by

So today’s problem is, stacking books!!!!!

I have a small room to myself which till date I have been sharing with my brother. He is now studying in a different city but most of his belongings are here, so again it leaves me with no extra space. The room has 2 small wardrobes, amid which there is a dresser with few chest of drawers and a study table big enough to cram the room.

Basically no shelf, rack, or a separate space to store books.

Over the time, I have filled my study table and all its drawers with my novels, after which the drawers below the dresser came. Can you believe it? Novels in the space where one would usually find accessories, lipsticks, nail paints and what not. And now, I am literally out of space!!

I don’t know where the following books would go. But I am pretty sure the books wouldn’t stop coming!

Occasionally I do threaten my brother to vacate his wardrobe so that I can cram books there, but in return I get to hear I can throw away all my clothes and replace it with books, if I am so desperate for space.

Does anyone relate to it? Any one of you face the same book problems, or is it only me who always runs out of space!

Books have piled up here in the study next to my computer. On my wife’s side it’s neat and clean. sigh. I can totally relate. I think the idea already given to crate the books and place them under the bed is a good idea. My first suggestion is to donate your brother’s clothes to a charity, but I guess not, huh? If you can put up shelves on the wall, you can organize books easily that way. Good luck! My ultimate advice: Remain calm and read! 🙂

Oh, yes ‘remain calm and read’ is actually the best suggestion when I can do pretty much nothing about anything else, apart from storing some of them under my bed.
Thanks Paul for reading it 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion. I might need something of this sort soon to avoid getting my room cluttered.

Books do take up a lot of space, don’t they? 😀

I totally understand this problem!! I had 3 bookshelves in my room, parts of them filled with boxes of books (so more would fit), plus more books in various rooms of the house. Now that I’m moving out I had to get rid of some of them – but it was hard!!

I understand, even I don’t feel like giving away the books right now. And now I am not giving them to anyone. It will do for now, but may be in future I will have to give some of them.

Sweet had I problem when why Mother was setting my room and she wanted to discard few of my books which I don’t need but I am in love even with my school books that I can discard!! Excerpt few have all kept them specially in my new requested storage box on demand and lucky enough that my mother designed extra book shelf specially for my novels

I relate so much 😂 sometimes you do have to pass on books (after a lot of self persuasion) but the good part of that is that you are giving people new, amazing books to read that you loved! Maybe get a small bookshelf for ones you love love, and you could store them under things like your bed? Hope this helps! X

Yes, the only logical solution is keeping them under my bed. as for now, i am absolutely not ready to part with them. Nope.
But thanks for sharing here. It is good to know every book lover shares the same problem 😀

I have no storage ever for anything, but books are the biggest issue definitely, they’re a blessing and a curse(mainly a blessing of course). I had to organise my bookshelf the other day and the amount of dust was ridiculous 😂

Hahaha, I can relate. Just as how much you love reading them, cleaning them is a task, isn’t it?

Definitely😂 it’s awful but I always get a bit exited from how the bookshelf looks after so it’s kinda worth it 😂

You are not alone Moushmi, book storage is a huge problem here too. Wherever we discover space, books move in. I refuse to buy only digital because the print versions are special.Good luck and Namasté, Steve

Thank you, the same is the case here, I haven’t yet adopted the digital versions, only a hard copy and the smell of books satisfy me.

That’s a problem book lovers usually find themselves in! But i love dealing with books and trying to make space for them! Fortunately, i come from a publishing house background, so our home was designed keeping books in mind we always had dedicated stacks, almirahs, huge tin containers for storing books!! So space for books was never a problem!! 😁 We take pride im preserving books!! You may not believe, but i have kept all the books and copies of my education starting from nursery classes!! 😊
